This week is National Careers Week. It intends to raise awareness for how people and businesses can get involved in work experience and activities at local schools. If you get involved you’ll come across great and talented young people.
I encourage you to think about how you might get involved with schools and colleges. Might you think about whether someone at school could land on a work placement or apprenticeship with your business, or even be a part time or full time staff member in the future.
Getting involved now can help you to spot talent early and nurture them, inspire them and to help your business.
Don’t wait for schools to contact you. Get in contact with local schools and ask to speak to the member of the leadership team in charge of careers and work experience.
This Friday, I’m mentoring in Barnsley’s Business Creation Challenge as my contribution to the cause.
What will National Careers Week inspire you to do for our future workforces?
Many thanks for considering and do follow events on Twitter using the #NCW2014 hashtag.
